When I link to products or services on my website, those links may be affiliate links. If you click on one of those links and make a purchase within a certain time frame, I earn a small commission — anywhere from 3% to 10% of your purchase. This commission is paid for by the retailers at no cost to you.

Affiliate links allow me, as an independent blogger, to generate revenue from my website. But I don't just link to any product. As a rule, I only link to products that a) I have used myself, and b) I have found valuable. Affiliate links represent genuine recommendations from me.

I am a member of the following affiliate programs:

  • Manning Publications
  • Digital Ocean
  • Codeanywhere
  • Amazon Services LLC Affiliates Program
  • Metasnake
  • Parallels, Inc.
  • SetApp

Regarding books: As an author myself, supporting authors and independent publishers is important to me. Whenever possible, I link directly to purchasing options on author and publisher websites. You should consider purchasing directly using these options, as it provides the maximum revenue to these hard-working folks and helps protect you from scams.

Supporting independent authors and publishers: For technical books, I always link to direct purchase options, even when no affiliate program is available. Supporting authors is far more important than making a quick buck.

If you are an author and find that I have linked to an indirect purchasing option, please reach out so that I can correct my error.
